The Mackay U11 Carnival is a fantastic weekend of fun and excitement for all players aged 8-11years.
Townsville has a proud history of sending 3 teams of boys and 3 teams of girls to this carnival every year and would like to generate the same numbers if possible in 2026.
Townsville Hockey sees this as a GREAT first opportunity for our youngest athletes to wear the Townsville colours and enjoy
representing their city for the first time.
THA further encourages young coaches and any new managers who can relate to the kids and encourage them to have fun in different positions and take away valuable learnings about team work and Townsville's way of play. The social aspect of the weekend is always high with the players, parents and supporters having a great enjoyable weekend away.
THA aim to send 3 teams in each gender and are selected with the #1 team as the strongest to play in Division 1 and our other two teams are selected equally to play in Division 2.
The Mackay Carnival is self stay and self accommodate over the weekend of the Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August, should you wish to assist over the weekend as a coach, manager or just as a helpful parent or if you have any further questions please let me know at rcd@townsvillehockey.com
Trials will be conducted after the school holidays across 2 x sessions on
Sunday afternoons - 12th & 19th July 4pm on the THA GRASS fields
Teams to be released as quickly as possible after both trials all number and availability dependant.
Training sessions will be run in the lead up on Monday afternoons, with all details communicated once the teams are announced and coaches are in place.
To ensure teams are filled please ensure registrations are completed as soon as possible and if your child is unavailable for any of the trials please ensure the RCD or club representatives are made aware.
Any further questions please let me know as soon as possible.
