U16 Girls State Championships 2024 Information and registration

The U16 Girls State Championships for 2024 are being hosted by Sunshine Coast Hockey association, 176 Ballinger Rd, Buderim from the 19th -22nd September.
Players selected in these teams will accommodate and travel independently.

It is Townsville Hockey's goal to get as many teams to these championships in order to expose and develop our player, coach, manager and officials base as a whole within this age group. However this will largely depend on player, coach and managerial interest and a decision will be made accordingly on the number of teams sent to the championships. This means if nominations do not support a second team THA will not entertain an additional team after trials.

Coach and managerial staff from Hawthorn shield have been reappointed and for the State championships campaign will be:
Coach- Mrs Kelly Bourke
Asst Coach - TBC
Manager- Mrs Natasha Nementh

Team2- will be decided if interest and numbers permit.

Key selection and training details are below for the Championships:

Trials and Games :
Hawthorn Shield against Cairns- already complete
Junior and Senior games .
Club selectors will be observing junior and senior club games in the lead up to final team selections
Monday 15th & 22nd July 5-6pm WaterHole Turf - Squad training and Selection
Friday 24th July - Final teams will be named and communicated.

Following the teams or team announcements
Training sessions will take place on Monday evenings and some Sundays as per coach and manager instruction.
This will include turf and grass trainings , game play and structural sessions but are subject to change with coach and manager discretion. It is expected that all players wanting to represent THA at the Un16 state championship make themselves available for these sessions if not the coach and manager must be made aware.
